The Needs

Mental health issues affect at least one in five people. Studies suggest that the prevalence of mental health problems is slightly higher among Francophones in minority communities than among non-Francophones. Despite this, there are significant challenges to providing mental health mental-healths in French in the Greater Toronto Area.

“Thanks to your support, my daughter is more relaxed, more open and full of hope. It’s a joy to see her like this. I’m glad that her first experience with professional counselling was positive. From the bottom of my heart, thank you!”

“Our son received therapy for several months due to his restlessness and attention issues. The therapist quickly established a relationship of trust. Over time, we noticed that he was calmer, listened better, showed fewer signs of stress, and had greater self-confidence.”

“I am an asylum seeker and, like many people in my situation, I was dealing with a lot of stress, anxiety, loneliness and accumulated trauma. The mental health team provided me with a safe, caring and professional space where I could speak my own language. I would like to sincerely thank the entire team. Your work is changing lives. Thanks to you, I no longer feel alone on this difficult journey.”
